Would love to get a bottle of top notch Absinthe. Anyone got suggestions about who to order from? Any help here would be appreciated. Plus I need to get some cash together and perhaps a disposable credit card. _________________ Buy the ticket take the ride. |

I can find out what brands it is exactly that are in stock near me. I have no idea whether they're good or not. |

Personally, I have never had the pleasure of having "Real" Absinthe...however, I came across a bloke in Perth, AU who told me that the best came from Czechs...dunno? I am anxious to see my composure with the fine drink. Keep me posted on your findings and how it goes. Maybe we can share a night cap next year and compare findings. I have also heard that some bottles are a bit different than others as far as potency...I dunno if that's at all true but I am ready to find out. _________________ “Fear is just another word for ignorance”

check my post at the far beginning of this thread for recomendations on where and what to order to get the best absinthe available.
czech absinthe is garbage, don't order it. it's the worst out there. swiss absinthe is generally considered the best.
my 2 favorite kinds are
la bleue clandestine for flavor and smoothness
moulin vert for an absinthe that is still very tasty but packs a hell of a punch. _________________ This Is Not Your Grandma's Acid Casualty...

Fuck the Czech absinthe, indeed. It's cheap shit and not worth a fuckin' dime, unless of course you're looking for an alcoholic drink that is NOT absinthe.
Tasty beer, although I prefer Belgian and some German beers.
Anyway, I once bought a bottle of absinthe when I was 15 with a bunch of friends. We weren't even drunk and since then I have given up on absinthe. Well there was of course the Czech absinthe but as I said, it's not absinthe. But this seems like a good excuse to try it again, a quality brand this time.
If I find it, I'll buy and drink it and report back here. _________________ ...I was well aware that the fiend was not dead, but sleeping; and I have known that the sleep was a light one and the waking near... |

good news... it looks like there is about to be real, traditional absinthe available in US markets. apparently it's already available in NY. it should be available in Chicago any day now.

I found some Absinth here in the hills of Eastern Kentucky. $55.00 a bottle , its called Absente its 110 proof and tastes like licorice. I loved it but the price keeps me from being able to get much and what I'm able to get is all to rare with the economy being so bad. _________________ Buy the ticket take the ride. |
