Thanks so much for these terrific latest blog pieces, Wayne, and for the lovely gift of Animals, Whores and Dialogue, which I have just watched for the very first time! Amongst other wonders, I was knocked out to hear Hunter read his iconic piece about riding his motorcycle on The Great Highway.

The blog entries clear up some things I had wondered about from your film Breakfast--why Hunter makes a mad dash into the Fear and Loathing premiere, for instance. It's special to get the backstory about the Gilliam & Steadman Times interview beforehand.

A couple of O'Farrell Theater related questions--was the red convertible used in the film Fear & Loathing the same car given to Hunter by the Mitchell Brothers during Hunter's 1990 legal case in Aspen? And did the Gonzo g-string briefly revealed in Animals Whores & Dialogue originate from the O'Farrell as well? I heard they had some made.

Your films and blog pieces illuminate so many corners of Hunter!

So Wayne,
I have enjoyed all of what you have published on the site and, of course, "Breakfast with Hunter".
A quick and insignificant story from the Roaring Fork Valley.
My only encounter with HST occurred in 1977 in Woody Creek when my girlfriend at the time had a riding school/ranchette just down from the Woody Creek Tavern.
I was the designated "ranch hand" and subsequently one of our students was Juan Thompson. Sandy Thompson was looking for activities for him that summer and settled on our deal in the dust. Well, Juan became a great friend and I once had occasion to drive up to Owl Farm to pick him up for an evening activity. I only remember HST glaring at me as I spirited his only son off in my Porsche. I am convinced he thought me some kind child molester. I survived the encounter and that summer with Juan still provides me with great memories.
Best regards.
